CUSTOMS SERVICE
SCOPE OF APPLICATION IN THE PROCESS OF
IMPORTED MERCHANDISE CUSTOMS CLEARANCE.
Required Documentation:
For the effects of imported merchandise custom clearance is a
requirement of the national legislation to provide the following documents:
- Photocopy of the RIF or Passport.
- Power of Attorney: for the representation of the importer as customs
agent.
- Packing List.
- AWB, B/L, inland transportation permit.
- Certificate of origin.
- Import permits: Imported product registries (COVENIN), import Licenses and fitosanitary;
if required.
Classification Phase
Tariff Classification of the product, the tariff codes for the product
are verified, in order to establish the corresponding due as an import product according
to Venezuelan customs.
Process of Valuation
This phase begins with the fulfillment of the valuation of the merchandise in
order to pay importation taxes to the National State treasury, in the bank authorized by the
Ministry of Finances, taking in to consideration the values of the commercial invoice
(value of the merchandise), of the Insurance, the freight and all other costs that the mechanism of
valuation of the GATT establishes.With the data above mentioned, the process of pre-liquidation of
the merchandise will begin.
Phase of Presentation
This process is ensured with the filling out of Forms B,
C and DAV (Andean Declaration of Value), to be presented, signed and sealed
by the customs offices.

SCOPE OF APPLICATION IN THE PROCESS
OF EXPORTING MERCHANDISE BEFORE CUSTOMS.
Required Documentation:
For the effects of the proceedings of the merchandise to
export in the country's customs it is a requirement of the national legislation,
to provide the following documents:
- Photocopy of the RIF or Passport
- Commercial invoice
- Power of Attorney
- AWB, B/L, inland transportation pass
- Certificate of Origin and/or any other obligatory permits for the
presentation of documents before customs
Process of Transfer:
The merchandise is transported to the warehouse authorized
by customs and the carrier line for its exportation. At this stage, customs
authorities will begin the process of recognition of the merchandise.
Process of Documentation:
It begins with the filling out of Form D (Declaration of
Export) including the required attachments, signed and sealed by the customs
offices.
